متن کاملCarrier-envelope phase dependence of nonsequential double ionization of H2 by few-cycle laser pulses
We studied the dependence of double ionization of H2 molecules on the carrierenvelope phase of a few-cycle laser pulse in the nonsequential double ionization regime. For short pulses at low intensities the strong dependence is due to the return energy of the rescattering electrons and the result may be used for determining the absolute value of the carrier envelope phase.
متن کاملEnhancing high-order above-threshold dissociation of H2+ beams with few-cycle laser pulses.
High-order (three-photon or more) above-threshold dissociation (ATD) of H(2)(+) has generally not been observed using 800 nm light. We demonstrate a strong enhancement of its probability using intense 7 fs laser pulses interacting with beams of H(2)(+), HD(+), and D(2)(+) ions. The mechanism invokes a dynamic control of the dissociation pathway. These measurements are supported by theory that a...
متن کاملH2 Double Ionization with Few-Cycle Laser Pulses
The temporal dynamics of double ionization of H2 has been investigated both experimentally and theoretically with few–cycle laser pulses. The main observables are the proton spectra associated to the H+ + H+ fragmentation channel. The model is based on the time–dependent Schrödinger equation and treats on the same level the electronic and nuclear coordinates. Therefore it allows to follow the u...
متن کاملNonsequential double ionization with few-cycle laser pulses.
We investigate differential electron momentum distributions in nonsequential double ionization with linearly polarized, few-cycle pulses, using a classical model based on a laser-assisted inelastic (e(-),2e(-)) rescattering mechanism. These yields, as functions of the momentum components parallel to the laser polarization, are highly asymmetric and strongly influenced by the phase difference be...
